Why Do I Give a F&$k??
A cross-cultural conversation between friends, hosted by JoHanna ”J” Thompson and Diane Tate. In these times of great struggle and possible shift, we ask ourselves, why do we give a f&$k about any of it? How does the lens we see the world through, impact what we see, and what do we do about it?

Trigger/content warning: dehumanizing of Palestinians and victims of 9/11 using severely academic references of the impact of incinerated humans on the environment. We invite you to fast forward if you do not want to hear the email.
J and Diane break down an email sent out by the organization they used to work for, written by former Rep. and presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich, on his reasoning to stop bombing Gaza. They talk about how tone deaf this email is and how whiteness thinks it did something good here, but how wrong that is. This is a longer episode, so bear with us!If you are interested in reading the email for yourself, a link to it will be available on the YDIGAF link tree.

Diane shares about saying goodbye to her Mother. This is a poem she wrote after her transition:
Transformation in Transition
Your outer shell is cracking
opening to reveal the light inside.
Womb mother sliding
into the eternal,
while spirit mother
weaves a tapestry of colors on canvas
revealing the space where the stars
and trees meet.
Your laughter sings now
forever in our hearts
while birds of blue
whisper secrets in your ear
bringing joy up from
the depths of your soul.
The beauty of one mother
capturing the essence of the other
expands my breath,
while yours is leaving you
in short, raspy tones.
We watch and
tell you we will be ok.
We wait and
tell you we will miss you.
Lullabies and bird song
fill your ears
as you transition into spirit
to join your loves who
are waiting for you.
Farewell sweet mother.
Dance with your sisters
and know that I loved you
dearly and truly.
See ya later alligator…
